Prof. Suhail Alrukn is an esteemed figure in the field of neurology and stroke care, recognized for his outstanding contributions to the medical community and his significant impact on stroke management and awareness in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

As the Director of the Stroke Program at Rashid Hospital and a prominent faculty member at Dubai Medical College, Dr. Suhail Alrukn has dedicated his career to advancing stroke care and education. His major interests lie in acute stroke management, stroke prevention, and raising stroke awareness across the MENA region.

Prof. Alrukn's commitment to stroke care extends beyond his clinical work. He is the current President and Co-founder of MENA Stroke, the largest stroke organization in the Middle East and North Africa. Under his leadership, MENA Stroke has played a pivotal role in enhancing stroke care, research, and public awareness in the region.

Additionally, Dr. Alrukn is one of the founders of the Angels Initiative, a global initiative aimed at improving stroke care and outcomes by enhancing stroke systems of care. His involvement in this initiative underscores his dedication to advancing stroke care not only in the MENA region but on a global scale.

Throughout his career, Dr. Alrukn has received numerous regional and international awards in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the field. Notably, he was honored with the prestigious "2022 Ron Haddock International Impact Award" by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. This award highlights his global influence and the positive impact he has made on stroke care and prevention worldwide.

Prof. Dr. Adel Alhazzani is a Professor of Neurology at College of Medicine in King Saud University and a Consultant neurologist at King Khalid hospital Riyadh. He is the past president of Saudi Stroke society, Secretary General of Saudi Neurology, Society Board member of National Stroke Clinical advisory group CAG, member of Scientific Board & member of examination council for Saudi neurology board. He is a consultant at Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Health Care Institutions (CBAHI). He obtained his MB and BS with honors from King Khalid University in 2001. He finished his residency at McGill University in 2008 and became a fellow of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons in Canada. He did his fellowship in vascular neurology at Harvard University in 2009 followed by interventional neuroradiology and endovascular neurosurgery fellowship in 2010, he is fellow of academic leadership center at the Ministry of education since 2013. His current interest includes acute therapy of stroke, stroke in young, migraine and medical education. He published more than 90 articles in the field of cerebrovascular medicine, headaches and neurology. He is a member of many professional organizations and advisory board at a national and international levels.

Prof. Abdelalim is a Professor of Neurology at Cairo University Egypt, and Director of Kasralainy Stroke Center, Cairo University.

He is a member of the steering committee of the Egyptian Stroke Chapter; the Supreme committee of Stroke, and National Stoke Program, Egyptian Ministry of Health.

He is also the Associate editor of The Egyptian Journal of Neurology, Psychiatry and Neurosurgery; peer reviewer for many high impact neurology Journals; and co-author of many peer reviewed researches published in high impact journal such as Lancet and Lancet Neurology.

Dr. Maria Junaidi is a neurologist practicing in Rashid Hospital, Dubai for the past eight years. She is a graduate of the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan and completed her post graduate training from the same institute. She holds a fellowship in vascular neurology and is one of the founding members for MENA stroke organization. She is also an avid researcher and has a number of publications in international peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Taleb Almansoori is a graduate of the College of Medicine and Health Science at the United Arab Emirates University. After graduation, he completed five years of postgraduate medical training at McGill University, Montreal – Canada culminating in board certification in Diagnostic Radiology, followed by completion of a subspecialty training in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at Ottawa University, Ottawa – Canada. Given his academic post as an Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences of the United Arab Emirates University, Dr. Almansoori is heavily involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and participated in many regional and international meetings. Dr. Almansoori served in multiple roles within the scope of imaging services and provided radiological subject matter expertise for different organizations across the United Arab Emirates. He has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and a book entitled Advanced Neuroradiology Cases: Challenge Your Knowledge. He has given multiple invited lectures at regional and international meetings on neuroradiology and stroke management. Currently, Dr. Almansoori is the Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at the College of Medicine and Health Science. Additionally, he is the Vice President of the Emirates Radiology Society and a Board member of the MENA Stroke Organization.

Dr. Ali Al Khathaami, MBBS, MPH, FRCPC is Executive Director of Quality & Patient Safety & Neurologist at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is a Professor of Neurology at the College of Medicine, King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Riyadh. Dr. Al Khathaami was appointed as President of the Saudi Stroke Association in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2013.

Dr. Ali Al Khathaami received his Medical Degree from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1997 and continued his training in Internal Medicine Residency Training at the Department of Medicine, King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh from 1998-2002. He completed Neurology Residency Training Program at the University of Calgary, Canada in 2006. He completed his Stroke Fellowship in cerebrovascular diseases in 2007 at the University of Calgary. He also earned a Master Degree in Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the College of Public Health & Health Informatics in 2011.

Dr. Al Khathaami has pioneered the establishment of state of the art Comprehensive Stroke Program in the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs in 2008 which is currently running and will be accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI), which centered around to provide the advanced care for stroke patients.

Selma Kesraoui : professor of neurology at the Saad Dahlab university in Blida, Algeria. Graduated with an MD from Algiers university and trained in neurology in Mustapha Bacha hospital Algiers

After the master degree i mooved to Blida Hospital University to establish a thesis in cerebrovascular deseases and to become a head of stroke unit and a head of neurology department . I also trained in cerebrovascular desease and ultrasound echodoppler in Paris and Lille (France).

In collaboration with the department of neuroradiology we created the first stroke center in Algeria performing endovascular treatment (mechanical thrombectomy, endovascular treatment of arteriovenous malformations, aneurysm). My main clinical interests are stroke, neuroepidemiology and reperfusion therapy.
