As the Director of the Stroke Program at Rashid Hospital and a prominent faculty member at Dubai Medical College, Dr. Suhail Alrukn has dedicated his career to advancing stroke care and education. His major interests lie in acute stroke management, stroke prevention, and raising stroke awareness across the MENA region.

Prof. Alrukn's commitment to stroke care extends beyond his clinical work. He is the current President and Co-founder of MENA Stroke, the largest stroke organization in the Middle East and North Africa. Under his leadership, MENA Stroke has played a pivotal role in enhancing stroke care, research, and public awareness in the region.

Additionally, Dr. Alrukn is one of the founders of the Angels Initiative, a global initiative aimed at improving stroke care and outcomes by enhancing stroke systems of care. His involvement in this initiative underscores his dedication to advancing stroke care not only in the MENA region but on a global scale.

Throughout his career, Dr. Alrukn has received numerous regional and international awards in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the field. Notably, he was honored with the prestigious "2022 Ron Haddock International Impact Award" by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. This award highlights his global influence and the positive impact he has made on stroke care and prevention worldwide.

Prof. Dr. Adel Alhazzani is a Professor of Neurology at College of Medicine in King Saud University and a Consultant neurologist at King Khalid hospital Riyadh. He is the past president of Saudi Stroke society, Secretary General of Saudi Neurology, Society Board member of National Stroke Clinical advisory group CAG, member of Scientific Board & member of examination council for Saudi neurology board. He is a consultant at Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Health Care Institutions (CBAHI). He obtained his MB and BS with honors from King Khalid University in 2001. He finished his residency at McGill University in 2008 and became a fellow of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons in Canada. He did his fellowship in vascular neurology at Harvard University in 2009 followed by interventional neuroradiology and endovascular neurosurgery fellowship in 2010, he is fellow of academic leadership center at the Ministry of education since 2013. His current interest includes acute therapy of stroke, stroke in young, migraine and medical education. He published more than 90 articles in the field of cerebrovascular medicine, headaches and neurology. He is a member of many professional organizations and advisory board at a national and international levels.

Dr. Hany Aref is a specialist Neurologist. He is the Board Member of Pan Arab Union on Neurological Societies, Treasurer of Pan Arab Union on Neurological Societies, Fellow of American Academy of Neurology (FAAN), Fellow of the European Stroke Organization (FESO), Member of European Academy of Neurology, Member of editorial board of the European Journal of Neurology, Member of the scientific committee of MENACTRMS, General secretary of MENASO ( Middle East and North Africa Stroke Society), Board member of the constitution and bylaw committee of the World Federation of Neurology.

His area of expertise include Cognitive Issues , Dementia , EEG , EMG / NCS , Chronic Headache , Migraine , Movement Issues , Multiple Sclerosis , Neurology Consultation , Neurology Follow Up , Parkinson's Disease , Seizures / Epilepsy , Stroke Check-up / Prevention , Tingling / Numbness / Weakness , TMS , Weakness in extremities , Alzheimer's Disease , Facial palsy , Cerebral Palsy , Brachial Plexus , Head injury / concussion , Paraplegia , Quadraplegia and Hemiplegia etc.

Dr. Maria Junaidi is a neurologist practicing in Rashid Hospital, Dubai for the past eight years. She is a graduate of the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan and completed her post graduate training from the same institute. She holds a fellowship in vascular neurology and is one of the founding members for MENA stroke organization. She is also an avid researcher and has a number of publications in international peer reviewed journals.
